Terms of service for Veritas Quest.

At a glance

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of this Veritas Quest deployment. Using the platform means accepting them.

Use it to learn and to teach.. Personal study, classroom teaching and authoring are all in scope. Reselling access is not.

Your work stays yours.. Content you author remains yours; you give us only the licence needed to host and serve it.

Under-16s need a school or guardian.. Those accounts are created through a school workspace or a guardian consent flow, never on their own.

You can leave whenever.. Erase the account from Settings, then Account. No retention period, no exit interview.

Accounts and eligibility

You need an account to use anything beyond the public pages, and the details on it must be accurate. Keep your credentials to yourself: activity under your account is treated as yours, so tell us immediately if you think someone else has access.

Learners under 16 must reach the platform through a school workspace, or through a guardian who has completed the consent flow. Creating an under-16 account outside those routes breaches these terms, and the account will be suspended.

School workspaces are administered by the school. An administrator can create, suspend and remove accounts inside their own workspace, and can see the learning data belonging to it.

Acceptable use

The platform is used by children. That single fact sets the standard for everything below.

Do not harass anyone. No bullying, threats, sexual content or hate speech, and no contacting learners outside the supervised channels the product provides.

Do not cheat the mechanics. Automating attempts, scripting the API to farm XP or league position, or sharing exam content while it is live spoils the record for everyone measured against it.

Do not attack the service. No probing for vulnerabilities without written permission, no scraping at volume, no attempting to reach another workspace's data.

Do not upload what is not yours. Authored content must be yours to publish, or licensed for it. Infringing material is removed on notice.

Report what you find. If you see a safeguarding concern or a security flaw, tell us. Good-faith security reports are welcomed, not punished.

Your content

Quests, questions, packs and other material you author stay yours. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to store, reproduce and display that content for the purpose of running the platform - and, where you publish into a shared catalog, to serve it to the audience you published it to.

You can withdraw content you authored. Withdrawal stops future distribution; it does not retroactively unpick attempts learners have already made against it, because that would corrupt their records.

We may remove content that breaches these terms, that infringes someone else's rights, or that presents a safeguarding risk.

Our content and the platform

The platform itself - its software, artwork, mascot, world themes, and the content we publish - belongs to us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable right to use it while your account is active. You may not copy, resell, sublicense or reverse-engineer it.

Nothing here transfers ownership of anything, in either direction, beyond the licences described.

Subscriptions and payment

Some features sit behind a paid plan. The price, the billing period and what is included are shown at the point of purchase, and that is the offer that binds - not this page.

Subscriptions renew until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves access in place until the end of the period already paid for. Where a school pays for a workspace, the school's agreement governs billing for the accounts inside it.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the platform available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance happens, incidents happen, and dependencies fail.

The product changes: features are added, reworked and occasionally retired. Where a change materially removes something you rely on, we give notice inside the product before it lands.

Ending an account

You can end it at any time by erasing your account from Settings, then Account.

We can suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that presents a risk to other users - particularly to children - or where we are required to by law. Where the circumstances allow it, we say why and give you a chance to put it right first.

School-issued accounts end when the school ends them, or when the school's agreement with us ends.

Suspension for a safeguarding concern is immediate and is not negotiated in advance. Protecting a child comes before procedural courtesy to an adult account holder.

Liability

The platform is a study tool. It is not an examinations authority, a certification body, or a substitute for professional advice, and we do not warrant any particular learning outcome or grade.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, goodwill or anticipated savings. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Contact and changes to these terms

Talk to us first. Most disputes are a misunderstanding about what the product did, and we can usually show you the record.

If we change these terms materially, we update the effective date at the top of this page and tell account holders inside the product. Continuing to use the platform after that is acceptance of the new version; if you do not accept it, erase the account.
